Sven Bolli (*1994)

I'm inspired by the details of our world, by small excerpts from everyday life. This could be an interesting shadow or a sight in which things align to create a new interesting view. Most of the time those are random moments in which I look in the right direction at the right time.
I reduce those impressions to the essential and then reproduce them in varying degrees of abstraction, depending on the subject.

To me it's important, that an artwork creates the same feeling, that I had at the moment of the inspiration. This doesn't necessarily have to be in the finished work, it can also happen at some point during the process. Those feelings are hard to put into words, but they make me want to capture a specific subject, make me feel drawn to those views.
During the process it then feels just right at some point and when that time comes the artwork is either finished or I move on to the next step in the process.

I mostly work in oil paints on various grounds, but I also like experimenting with new materials.

I was born and raised in Glattfelden, Switzerland, near Zürich. In 2024 at the age of 30 I moved to the mountains to Sörenberg.

After working in an architecture office for over 10 years I focused completely on my art since moving. I'm mostly self-taught and work from my studio in Sörenberg.
